End of term - Easter opening hours for the University Libraries


Easter is just over the horizon. Below is information on the opening hours for the two University Libraries over the vacation:

University of Hull

Thursday 2nd April:
   Library will close at Midnight

Friday 3rd April:
   Closed

Saturday 4th April:
   9am - 5pm

Sunday 5th April:
   9am - 5pm

Monday 6th April:
   Closed

Tuesday 7th April:
   Opens at 7am

24/7 opening will resume from Tuesday 7th April.

24 Hr loan items will issue on Thursday 2nd and be due back at 8 am on Tuesday 7th.

Remember that if you are unable to return an item due in this period you can see if it is possible to renew items.

University of York

The Morrell Library remains open 24 hours a day throughout Easter.

Self-service will be in operation from 9pm on Thursday 2nd April to 9am on Tuesday 7th April, and you'll need your University of York card to enter the building during this time.

Normal loan periods are unchanged, and all items remain subject to recall in accordance with our flexible loans system, but the following variations will be in place throughout Easter:
  • 7 days to return an item if a request is placed
  • 7 days to collect an item once returned
  • 7 days borrowing period if there is a queue of requests
If you need to return an item, you can post it back to us and we'll use the date of posting as the return date.

If you're going home over the Easter vacation, you may be able to use your local University library. To find out if you can, apply to the SCONUL Access scheme at:
